Helpers

About Helpers
Helpers is a Uruguayan non-profit app for latin america, designed to address the urgent need for faster response times during medical emergencies in under-resourced regions. It connects trained volunteers, known as “Helpers,” with people experiencing emergencies.
Helpers provides users with EMT training, available directly within the app through gamified learning features, enabling them to offer basic medical assistance until professional responders arrive.
The app also supports mental health assistance and offers resources for domestic abuse situations, creating a comprehensive community-based support platform.
Client Needs and Project Scope
Helpers needed a redesigned UI to enhance usability and appeal for its community of over 15,000 active users across multiple countries.
The scope involved reimagining the app’s interface, implementing gamified training modules, and refining the overall experience to make training and assistance easily accessible for volunteers and users in need.
Design Process
–1. Research: Analyzed user needs and gathered insights on emergency response and volunteer engagement.
–2. UI Design: Developed a clear, engaging UI to improve navigation and user satisfaction.

–3. Prototyping: Built an interactive prototype demonstrating the redesigned UI and new features.
–4. User Testing: Conducted user testing to validate the usability and effectiveness of the new signup flow, using Maze.io
